Podcast ~ Liberty Teas LIVE with Barbara Anderson

When institutional silence demands complicity, what does it truly take to protect the vulnerable?

For decades, Barbara Anderson has been a powerhouse voice for human rights, women’s advocacy, and child protection.

When she uncovered systemic harm within a deeply entrenched authoritarian structure, she was brought to an agonizing crossroad: defer to authority to keep the peace and preserve family ties, or break the mold and speak out to protect thousands of innocent children.

She chose the children—even when it meant facing immense personal loss, shunning, and walking away from everything familiar.

In this premiere episode of the Liberty Teas podcast, Barbara phones into my live broadcast to speak directly with survivors and answer community questions. For so many who have been cast out, shunned, and silenced by high-control institutions, hearing her voice was deeply affirming, and the outpouring of love and support was undeniable.

Why This Story Matters to Liberty Teas

This project was born out of a deep conviction that autonomy, history, and truth matter — and that they are worth fighting for. During our conversation, Barbara shared a personal motto that stopped me in my tracks:

“Jesus said the truth will set you free. But Barbara Anderson says the facts will set you free.”

In my historical research and fiction writing, I explore the subtle and overt ways systems attempt to control human agency—how women throughout history have resisted rigid orthodoxy, reclaimed their voices, and fought for bodily and intellectual sovereignty.

Barbara’s lived experience is a modern-day testament to that very same struggle. The faces and eras change, but the architecture of control remains identical:

  • The weaponization of isolation: Using shunning and the loss of family ties to enforce compliance.
  • The demand for silence: Prioritizing institutional preservation over individual safety.
  • The power of reclamation: Discovering that true sovereignty begins the moment you refuse to look away from the truth.

Having Barbara as my inaugural guest sets the exact foundation of courage, historical inquiry, and advocacy that Liberty Teas stands for.

Grab a cup of tea and join us for an unvarnished conversation about institutional courage, the weight of truth, and what it truly means to defend human agency against coercive control.
